Basketball Recap: Appleton East Comes Up Short

Appleton East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a hard 71-52 fall against the Hortonville Polar Bears. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 198th, while the Polar Bears are ranked 30th).

Appleton East's defeat dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Hortonville, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Coming up, it'll be Eastside v. Westside when Appleton East and Appleton West meet at 7:45 p.m. on February 14th. Hortonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
