Baseball Recap: Central Comes Up Short

Central fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Rolla on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 7-6. The Tigers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Alex Ewasko made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Skyler Conner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

Central's defeat dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Rolla, the win was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 20-7.

Coincidentally, Central and Rolla will both be playing Springfield Catholic the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Fighting Irish at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
