Softball Recap: Eagleton College & Career Academy Continues Home Dominance on Monday

Eagleton College & Career Academy had won four straight at home, but on Monday they bumped their record up to 18-13-1 to make it five. They put the hurt on the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders with a sharp 10-3 victory. The win continues a trend for the Royals in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now won seven in a row.

Kyla Long spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on three hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Graci Fenstemaker, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Sara Wilson was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, they now have a losing record of 10-11. They haven't had much luck with Eagleton College & Career Academy recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

On Gatlinburg-Pittman's side, Ashlynn Kunkle made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sadie Moore, who earned one run and two stolen bases.

As of now, neither Eagleton College & Career Academy nor Gatlinburg-Pittman have any future games scheduled.
