Basketball Recap: Averi Johnson and Ciara Mustapher Secure Win for Stratford

Stratford's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They managed a 48-43 victory over the Goose Creek Gators. This was a revenge game for the Knights: when they faced off against the Gators back in January, they had to take a 60-51 defeat.

Leading Stratford to victory were Ciara Mustapher and Averi Johnson. Mustapher posted 19 points and three steals, while Johnson had 16 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals. The matchup was Mustapher's seventh in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Raniyah McKune, who put up four points along with five assists and four steals.

Stratford smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in six consecutive contests.

Goose Creek's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Gabby Curtis, who earned ten points, and Aubrey Downey, who scored nine points.
