Baseball Recap: Fishers Now 12-2 over Last 14 Games

Fishers had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Columbus North on Monday. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bull Dogs a 6-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Tigers have posted against the Bull Dogs since May 15, 2017.

Not much got past Austin Conley, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Columbus North off the board. Those eight strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Conley.

At the plate, Huston Dunn was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Zander Carnahan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Fishers has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-4 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for Columbus North, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fishers will head out to face off against Brownsburg at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Columbus North, they will venture away from home to square off against Avon at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bull Dogs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Orioles have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
