Football Recap: Jake Hudson and Cason Walden Pace Thomas Jefferson Academy Defense + How To Watch

Thomas Jefferson Academy played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusaders, falling 41-19. The loss continues a trend for the Jaguars in their meetings with the Crusaders: they've now lost three in a row.

Thomas Jefferson Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jake Hudson and Cason Walden. Thomas Jefferson Academy received some extra help from Nick Godowns, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Robert Toombs Christian Academy found their leader in sophomore Drew Edwards, who rushed for 164 yards and one TD while picking up 9.6 yards per carry, and also threw for 155 yards and three touchdowns. Edwards also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making three total tackles and defending three passes. Blake Durden was another key player, gaining 96 total yards.

Thomas Jefferson Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Robert Toombs Christian Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.
