Football Game Preview: Pearland Oilers vs. Dobie Longhorns + How To Watch

The Pearland Oilers will challenge the Dobie Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pearland will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Pearland gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They secured a 17-13 W over Dawson. Those 17 points were actually the fewest the Oilers have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.

Ja'Maurey Champion had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 233 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 11.7 yards per carry.

Champion was just one part of a punishing run game: Pearland was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 317 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 176 rushing yards in nine consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Dobie played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 47-24 to Shadow Creek. The Longhorns were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-3.

Pearland's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Dobie, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Everything came up roses for Pearland against Dobie in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 42-7 win. In that game, the Oilers amassed a halftime lead of 28-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
