Baseball Recap: Sierra Lutheran Comes Up Short

Sierra Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 14-9 to the North Tahoe Lakers. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-0 defeat on Saturday.

Matt Fahey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Sierra Lutheran's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 0-9-1 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Ramirez, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Sierra Lutheran's loss dropped their record down to 2-10-1. As for North Tahoe, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-3.

Sierra Lutheran will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Silver Stage at 4:00 p.m. on April 1. As for North Tahoe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Wendover at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
