Basketball Game Preview: Wapanucka Indians vs. Tupelo Tigers

Wapanucka and Tupelo are an even 4-4 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Wapanucka Indians will face off against the Tupelo Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wapanucka will be strutting in after a win while Tupelo will be coming in after a defeat.

Wapanucka will bounce into Friday's game after beating Calvin, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Wapanucka walked away with a 30-18 victory over Calvin back in December of 2024.

Meanwhile, Tupelo had to suffer through a 78-26 loss at the hands of Stratford. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now lost six in a row.

Tupelo's defeat dropped their record down to 2-13. As for Wapanucka, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6.

Wapanucka came up short against Tupelo when the teams last played back in January of 2024, falling 44-32. Can Wapanucka avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
