Soccer Game Preview: Clovis East vs. Hoover

The Clovis East Timberwolves and the Hoover Patriots will round out the year against one another at at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hoover took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Clovis East, who comes in off a win.

Clovis East's defense heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Madera with a sharp 3-0 win.

Francisco Damas and Noah Naranjo scored all three of Clovis East's goals, bringing their combined season tally to nine goals.

Meanwhile, after soaring to six goals the game before, Hoover was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They lost 6-0 to Buchanan. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 644th, while the Bears are ranked tenth).

Hoover's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Clovis East, their victory bumped their record up to 2-4-1.

Clovis East came out on top in a nail-biter against Hoover in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, sneaking past 4-3. Does Clovis East have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hoover turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
