Softball Recap: Cesar Chavez Comes Up Short

Cesar Chavez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the St. Bonaventure Seraphs, falling 9-2.

Cesar Chavez saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Esmeralda White, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That hit marked the first that White got this season. Another was Jazmen Serna, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Cesar Chavez's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for St. Bonaventure, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cesar Chavez will venture away from home to take on Highland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Highland is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season. As for St. Bonaventure, they will head out on the road to challenge Bishop Diego at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Bonaventure also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 7.2 runs per game.
