Meanwhile, Crete-Monee entered their tilt with Thornridge on Monday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They blew past the Falcons 15-0.
Deiker Rondon made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.
In other pitching news, Tyler Burnett looked comfortable as he struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
Back at the plate, Bren Milburn was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Crete-Monee is 14-1 when Milburn posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Dylan Dee, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Crete-Monee pushed their record up to 20-11 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.2 runs over those games. As for Lincoln-Way West, their victory bumped their record up to 23-7.
Crete-Monee's pitching crew better be locked in on Tuesday. Lincoln-Way West hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game.
