Softball Recap: Charlotte Latin Wins Going Away Against Charlotte Country Day School

Charlotte Latin won the last time they faced Charlotte Country Day School and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Charlotte Latin Hawks blew past the Charlotte Country Day School Buccaneers 19-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Ainsley Sullivan made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, she gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest she's had since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

In other batting news, Talia Hawa was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (four). Another player making a difference was Caroline Coble, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Charlotte Latin always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Charlotte Country Day School only posted an OBP of .250.

Charlotte Latin's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Coming up, Charlotte Latin is taking a road trip to challenge Mountain Island Charter at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Charlotte Country Day School, they will face off against Ambassador Christian School at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Charlotte Country Day School is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
