Softball Recap: Mercy McAuley Triumphs

Mercy McAuley gave up the first runs on Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Monroe Hornets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolves.

Callie Elmer was incredible, going 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kara Doenges, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Mercy McAuley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

Mercy McAuley now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Monroe, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Mercy McAuley nor Monroe have any future games scheduled.
