Softball Game Preview: Putnam Clippers vs. Windsor Locks Raiders

The Putnam Clippers will challenge the Windsor Locks Raiders at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

14 must be Putnam's lucky number: they beat Parish Hill with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Clippers beat the Pirates by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 14-1. The result was nothing new for the Clippers, who have now won eight matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Windsor Locks, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-5 victory over Canton on Monday.

Windsor Locks' win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.7 runs over those games. As for Putnam, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.
