Thomas Heyward Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a hard 30-13 fall against the Colleton Prep Academy War Hawks on Friday. The Rebels were down 30-6 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Despite the loss, Thomas Heyward Academy still got an impressive performance from Tony O'Banner, who rushed for 101 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 14 carries. O'Banner's rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his seventh straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Colleton Prep Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cale Owens, who rushed for 70 yards and one TD, and also threw for 165 yards and one touchdown while completing 83.3% of his passes. Thomas Corbett was Owens' top target, picking up 105 receiving yards and one score.
