Basketball Recap: Ottoville Takes a Loss

Ottoville suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2024 on Friday. They lost 75-52 to the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbirds. While losing is never fun, the Big Green can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 92nd).

Ottoville's defeat dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Lima Central Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ottoville and Leipsic will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played. As for Lima Central Catholic, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lima Senior at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Lima Senior knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 games -- so hopefully Lima Central Catholic likes a good challenge.
