Recap: Cuero Gobblers vs. La Grange Leopards
The Cuero Gobblers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past La Grange 49-17 at home. Considering Cuero has won eight contests by more than 27 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
It was another big night for Mason Notaro, who threw for 180 yards and three touchdowns while completing 90.9% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Notaro has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Daylon Gibbs, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Cuero's win was their 11th straight at home (dating back to last season), which pushed their record up to 10-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.7 points per game. As for La Grange, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.
Cuero will play host again and welcome Robinson, where kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Robinson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 471st, while Cuero is ranked 89th). La Grange will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Madisonville at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th.
