Softball Recap: Tunkhannock's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Tunkhannock put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Wilkes-Barre Wolfpack. The Tigers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolfpack, too.

Emily Patton and Addisyn Waterman did most of the damage at the plate: Patton went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one triple, and one run, while Waterman scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those four RBI gave Patton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of MaKenzie Bevan, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Tunkhannock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .452. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .423 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Tunkhannock pushed their record up to 6-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.4 runs on average over those games. As for Wilkes-Barre, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, Tunkhannock will head out to take on Williamsport at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Wilkes-Barre, they will face off against Wyoming Valley West at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolfpack are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
