Softball Game Preview: Ligonier Valley Rams vs. Mt. Pleasant Vikings

For the second straight game, Ligonier Valley will face off against Mt. Pleasant. The Rams will challenge the Vikings at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Ligonier Valley is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12 runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Mt. Pleasant on Wednesday. They took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. Rams fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Vikings since on Wednesday.

For Mt. Pleasant's part, Gigi Stanek 2025 was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Stanek 2025 was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three doubles and four RBI.

Stanek 2025 wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Danica Trainer 2027, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4. Talia Reho 2027 also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Mt. Pleasant kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The win (which was Mt. Pleasant's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Ligonier Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.
