Elk Grove had lost seven straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 9-21 to make it eight. They came up short against the Palatine Pirates, falling 8-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-6 two weeks ago.
