Basketball Recap: Nebraska Lutheran's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Nebraska Lutheran had lost six straight headed into Saturday's matchup, but Lukas Worster didn't let it get to seven. The Nebraska Lutheran Knights managed a 42-38 win over the Shelby-Rising City Huskies on Saturday thanks in part to Worster, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Another player making a difference was Luke Otte, who posted 17 points and seven boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Shelby-Rising City lost, don't look at Dalton Pokorney. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Schmidt, who put up ten points and seven rebounds.

Nebraska Lutheran's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Shelby-Rising City, they dropped their record down to 5-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nebraska Lutheran will face off against Hampton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Nebraska Lutheran is facing Hampton at the right time seeing as Hampton is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
