Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Comes Up Short

Roosevelt was the 6-3 winner over Madera South when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. Roosevelt fell just short of Madera South by a score of 8-7 on Friday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Roosevelt saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Leonardo Gonzales-Sanchez, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Roosevelt has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-5-1 record this season. The win made it two in a row for Madera South and bumps their season record up to 3-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Roosevelt will venture away from home to challenge McLane at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Roosevelt is facing McLane at the right time seeing as McLane is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Madera South, they will head out to square off against Minarets at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
