Basketball Game Preview: Seward Seahawks vs. Lumen Christi Archangels

The Seward Seahawks will head out to face off against the Lumen Christi Archangels at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Seward has given up an average of 53.9 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

Seward is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Susitna Valley just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 63-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Seahawks have suffered since March 20, 2024.

Meanwhile, Lumen Christi was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-59 heartbreaker at the hands of Susitna Valley.

Lumen Christi's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Seward, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Seward took their victory against Lumen Christi in their previous meeting back in January by a conclusive 69-49. The rematch might be a little tougher for Seward since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
