Softball Game Preview: Alta Loma Braves vs. Rancho Cucamonga Cougars

The Alta Loma Braves will head out on the road to face off against the Rancho Cucamonga Cougars at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Alta Loma will be strutting in after a victory while Rancho Cucamonga will be coming in after a loss.

Alta Loma took a six-run defeat the last time they faced off against Los Osos, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Alta Loma skirted past Los Osos 7-5.

Xoie Hacker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched. Hacker was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Isabella Galindo, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ava Salazar, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.

Alta Loma kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, while it was Rancho Cucamonga who put the first points on the board on Monday, it was Sultana who put up more. Rancho Cucamonga fell just short of Sultana by a score of 4-3.

Rancho Cucamonga's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Alta Loma, their record now sits at 6-4.

Alta Loma came up short against Rancho Cucamonga in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, falling 9-6. Can Alta Loma avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
