Baseball Recap: Cornerstone Charter Academy Triumphs

Cornerstone Charter Academy hadn't done well against Windermere Prep recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Ducks walked away with a 14-11 victory over the Lakers. For the Ducks, this counts as revenge for the 4-1 win the Lakers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

Efrain Rivera-Ortiz was excellent, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Salim Abdul-Nabi, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Cornerstone Charter Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since the start of last season.
