Volleyball Game Preview: Rancho Rams vs. Sierra Vista Mountain Lions

After both having extra time off, the Rancho Rams and the Sierra Vista Mountain Lions will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rancho is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Rancho came up short against Coral Academy of Science Las Vegas and fell 3-1.

Rancho started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 22-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-15.

Breaunna Chadwick put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 12 digs.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Sierra Vista, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Clark 3-0 on Wednesday.

Sierra Vista was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-9, 25-19.

Rancho's loss dropped their record down to 14-16. As for Sierra Vista, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-12 record this season.

Rancho suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Sierra Vista in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can the Rams avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
