Smethport was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 67-59 loss to the Austin Panthers. One positive for the Hubbers, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Smethport's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Austin, they moved to 3-6 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

When Smethport and Austin next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Smethport will try to stop Otto-Eldred's ten-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Similarly, Austin will face off against Coudersport and their four-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
