Goose Creek and Berkeley are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Goose Creek Gators will take on the Berkeley Stags at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Goose Creek's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for seven straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Last Tuesday, Goose Creek didn't have quite enough to beat Cane Bay and fell 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Gators have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Berkeley was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They came up short against Lucy Beckham, falling 11-0. While losing is never fun, the Stags can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Bengals are ranked ninth).

Goose Creek's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Berkeley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1.

Goose Creek came out on top in a nail-biter against Berkeley in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Goose Creek since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
