Softball Recap: Dedham Triumphs

Dedham lost to Norwood back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Monday. The Marauders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over the Mustangs.

Julia Walsh was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Walsh was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high.

Walsh wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Megan McNamara, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2.

Dedham was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .433. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Norwood only posted a batting average of .152.

The win got Dedham back to even at 1-1-1.

Dedham didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-0 defeat against Westwood on the 2nd. As for Norwood, they have also already played their next game, a 6-1 victory against Holliston on the 2nd.
