While Russell's victory against Rowan County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Devils had just enough and edged out the Vikings 3-2. The win continues a trend for the Red Devils in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won seven in a row.

Russell was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 25-20, 26-28, 23-25, 25-15, 15-11.

Russell's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Rowan County, their loss ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-4.

Russell and Rowan County should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. The Red Devils will face off against Boyd County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (30 vs. 97). Meanwhile, Rowan County (ranked 43rd) will meet Fairview (ranked 179th) at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
