Basketball Recap: Blue Ridge Takes a Loss

Blue Ridge was the 51-34 winner over Bonham when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Blue Ridge Tigers took a 47-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bonham Warriors on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1028th, while the Warriors are ranked 314th).

Bonham was led to victory by Heath Brown and Jk Wilson. Brown dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten boards, while Wilson posted 16 points and three steals. That's the most points Wilson has posted since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Russell Welch, who had six points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Blue Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Bonham, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Grand Saline the next time they take the court. Bonham will head out to face Grand Saline at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, while Blue Ridge will play them later in the day, at 9:00 a.m.
