Basketball Recap: Douglass Comes Up Short

The matchup between Douglass and Little Village on Thursday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Douglass Tigers took a blow against the Little Village Phoenix, falling 83-23. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Phoenix: they've now lost seven in a row.

It was another big night for Tyshawn Miller, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 assists for Little Village. Miller is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Dion Boyd Jr was another key player, putting up seven points along with ten rebounds and five assists.

Douglass' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Little Village, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Douglass Tigers face off against the Kelvyn Park Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
