Softball Recap: Ball Comes Up Short

Ball managed to slip by La Porte the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Ball Tornadoes lost 16-4 to the La Porte Bulldogs on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Kynidee Pope made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Addison Hopkins was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Ball dropped their record down to 3-13 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for La Porte, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3-1 record this season.

Ball will challenge Episcopal at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for La Porte, they will square off against Dobie at 6:30 p.m. on March 25th. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (La Porte 3.1, Dobie 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
