Basketball Recap: East Bladen Now 15-1 over Last 16 Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but East Bladen had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Wilson Prep Tigers with a sharp 68-43 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 22 matches by 22 points or more this season.

NeNe Ward continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 10-for-16 on her way to 25 points in addition to eight steals and five assists. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 16 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariel Cromartie, who shot 50% from the field en route to 18 points along with five rebounds and four steals.

East Bladen is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points on average over those games. Wilson Prep's defeat ended an 18-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 25-2.

Looking ahead, East Bladen is taking a road trip to challenge North Duplin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as North Duplin comes in on nine and East Bladen on 12. Wilson Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
