Basketball Game Preview: Fort Hancock Mustangs vs. Immanuel Christian Warriors

The Fort Hancock Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Immanuel Christian Warriors at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.

Last Tuesday, Fort Hancock ended up a good deal behind McCamey and lost 60-41. The Mustangs have struggled against the Badgers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Zaid Hermosillo, who posted six points and six steals. That's the most steals he has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jafit Arriaga, who earned six points.

Meanwhile, Immanuel Christian made easy work of Jesus Chapel on Tuesday and carried off a 59-33 victory. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Fort Hancock's loss dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Immanuel Christian, the win got them back to even at 12-12.

Fort Hancock suffered a grim 70-49 defeat to Immanuel Christian in their previous meeting on January 7th. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Fort Hancock was down 43-18.
