Basketball Game Preview: Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks vs. Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins

The Oceanside Collegiate Academy Landsharks will head out to challenge the Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Oceanside Collegiate Academy sitting on nine straight wins and Orangeburg-Wilkinson on three.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy is headed into the match having just posted their biggest victory since December 6, 2024 on Friday. They blew past Battery Creek 62-35. Given the Landsharks' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked third, while the Dolphins are ranked 116th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Orangeburg-Wilkinson beat North Charleston 52-48 on Wednesday.

Orangeburg-Wilkinson's win came from a few key players Oceanside Collegiate Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Keith Smith, who went 5 for 6 en route to 14 points and eight boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan McGahee, who posted eight points and seven boards.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season.

Oceanside Collegiate Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Orangeburg-Wilkinson in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 60-55 victory.
