Basketball Game Preview: Richlands Wildcats vs. White Oak Vikings

Having just played yesterday, the Richlands Wildcats will get right back to it and host the White Oak Vikings at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Richlands is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.

Richlands is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against West Carteret on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Richlands took a blow against West Carteret, falling 61-14. The Wildcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-9.

White Oak fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They snuck past West Carteret with a 32-27 victory on Friday.

Richlands better focus on containing Zamarah Rawls and Sidney Ferguson as the pair were huge in White Oak's win. Rawls posted seven points along with ten boards and three steals, while Ferguson scored nine points and three steals. Rawls has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aariel Jemison, who earned three points and three steals.

Richlands' loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for White Oak, their win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-9.
