Basketball Recap: North Davidson Comes Up Short

North Davidson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 37-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the Asheboro Blue Comets. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Blue Comets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-34 last Tuesday.

Asheboro found their leader in sophomore Adalynn Scherer, who went 8-for-19 on her way to 20 points along with five boards and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Scherer has scored all season. Laneane F Scherer was another key player, dropping a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

North Davidson's defeat dropped their record down to 5-18. As for Asheboro, their win bumped their record up to an identical 5-18.

As of now, neither North Davidson nor Asheboro have any future games scheduled.
