Niles got themselves on the board against Lakeshore on Friday, but Lakeshore never followed suit. They took down the Lancers 16-0. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Vikings' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 44th, while the Lancers are ranked 224th).

Niles has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 18 points this season. As for Lakeshore, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Niles and Lakeshore will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Vikings are set to take on their familiar foe Paw Paw at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Lakeshore will square off against rival Portage Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
