Baseball Recap: Connetquot T-Birds vs. Sachem North
Connetquot gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They came out on top against Sachem North by a score of 5-1. For Connetquot, this counts as revenge for the 6-0 defeat Sachem North walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2019.
Dylan Wilkinson looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and only one hit over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Connetquot saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dj Filippone, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Anthony Armenia, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Connetquot will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Smithtown West at 9:30 p.m. on April 9th. As for Sachem North, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bay Shore at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
