Volleyball Recap: South San Antonio's Run of Three Straight Wins Now Over

South San Antonio lost against East Central back in October of 2021, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Bobcats took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hornets. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Bobcats were not able to get on the board.

Despite the loss, South San Antonio saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Alyssa Ramirez had ten digs and two aces. Ramirez is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last ten games she's played dating back to last season.

With the defeat, South San Antonio broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 4-3. As for East Central, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

South San Antonio wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Winn on the 19th. As for East Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against SA Roosevelt on the 19th.
