Softball Recap: River Valley Mustangs vs. Cassopolis Rangers

River Valley couldn't beat Cassopolis on Saturday even though they stacked four runs on them in the seventh inning. The Mustangs fell just short of the Rangers by a score of 6-5. If the Mustangs were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Rangers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Johnna Rochefort made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Emerson Collins, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI.

River Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season. As for Cassopolis, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-7.

Looking ahead, River Valley will head out to square off against Michigan Lutheran at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
