Recap: Cotulla Cowboys vs. Natalia Mustangs
The Cotulla Cowboys's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their eighth straight loss. They suffered a tough 65-40 loss at the hands of Natalia. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Cotulla has suffered since December 7, 2023.
Anaya Jones continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Natalia, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Yahdi Lujan, who scored 14 points along with five assists and five steals.
Cotulla bumped their record down to 2-15 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Natalia, their victory bumped their record up to 9-17.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cotulla will take on Crystal City at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Crystal City will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for Natalia, they will head out on the road to face off against Dilley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dilley has now lost 14 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 18.
