Recap: Atkinson County Rebels vs. Clinch County Panthers
The Atkinson County Rebels lost against the Clinch County Panthers back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The match between the pair wasn't particularly close, with Atkinson County falling 65-51. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for them in their matchups with Clinch County: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Atkinson County saw an underclassman step up: Ja'Kari Northcutt scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamari Moore, who scored 12 points.
Atkinson County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Clinch County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.
Atkinson County will be playing in front of their home fans against Charlton County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Clinch County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ware County at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th. Ware County will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
