Soccer Game Preview: Gabriel Richard vs. Shrine Catholic

The Gabriel Richard Fighting Irish will head out to face off against the Shrine Catholic Knights at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Tuesday, Gabriel Richard came up short against Bishop Foley and fell 3-1. Gabriel Richard have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Shrine Catholic had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three two weeks ago. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Eaglets.

Shrine Catholic's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those five matchups. As for Gabriel Richard, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Gabriel Richard couldn't quite get it done against Shrine Catholic when the teams last played back in April of 2023 as they fell 2-0. Can the Fighting Irish avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
