Athens had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They were the clear victors by a 7-3 margin over the Pleasant Grove Hawks on Thursday. Athens might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by four goals or more this season.

They hit Pleasant Grove with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Anna Stovall (5), Donna Carpenter, and Makenzie Gardner.

Athens has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those five games. Pleasant Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.

Athens has already played their next matchup, a 4-1 victory against Spring Hill on the 25th. Pleasant Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
