Volleyball Recap: Bear Creek Comes Up Short

If Bear Creek was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Stagg on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bruins came up short against the McNair Eagles on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The Bruins were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-15, 25-17.

Maliyah McDaniel paced Bear Creek's offense, picking up four kills. McDaniel were helped by Sarena Yang and Olivia Hafoka, who contributed four assists each. Brianna Kelly controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

McNair's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Abrianna Gray led the charge by getting ten digs and two aces. Gray has been hot recently, having posted ten or more digs the last four times she's played. Keyla Yeng also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Bear Creek's loss dropped their record down to 12-15. As for McNair, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

As of now, neither Bear Creek nor McNair have any future games scheduled.
