Basketball Recap: Limon Piles Up the Points Against Flagler

Limon had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 47.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Flagler Panthers 64-17. With that victory, the Badgers brought their scoring average up to 50.9 points per game.

Limon was led to victory by Drey Tacha and Keagan Mellott. Tacha went 9 of 12 en route to 21 points and three steals, while Mellott went 6 for 10 on his way to 14 points along with seven boards and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Tacha a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Daniel Forristall, who posted six points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Limon smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Despite the loss, Flagler still got an impressive performance from Braden Hill, who earned eight points and seven boards.

Limon now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Flagler, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-5.

Limon wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-49 loss against Denver Christian on the 18th. Flagler has also already played their next contest, a 78-39 defeat against Byers on the 24th.
