Football Recap: Payette Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Payette extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-3. They had to suffer through a 47-6 loss at the hands of the Fruitland Grizzlies. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-0.

Despite the loss, Payette still got an impressive performance from Darrien Pecunia, who rushed for 96 yards and one TD on only eight carries. Pecunia really tore up the turf during one magnificent 73-yard run.

As for Fruitland, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 45.8 points this season.

Leading Fruitland to victory were Titus Vidlak and Killian Wilson. Vidlak threw for 166 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 passes, while Wilson gained 130 total yards and a touchdown. Vidlak has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last four times he's played. Joel Philpot was in the mix too, providing Fruitland with two scores.

Payette wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 39-7 loss against McCall-Donnelly on the 10th. As for Fruitland, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 43-21 win against Homedale on the 10th.
